The Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) administers the unemployment insurance (UI) program, offering temporary income assistance to qualifying workers in Massachusetts. Additionally, DUA is responsible for assessing and collecting employer contributions for the UI program. DUA determines and collects employer contributions to the UI program and also processes claims for UI benefits.
